Chrome extension

The extension adds the job you are looking at to your Sugar Glider pipeline. On a LinkedIn job it reads the posting. On any other page, you paste the description.

You need a Sugar Glider account. Create one if you are new, then come back to this page.

Install

Download the extension and load it in Chrome, Brave, Arc, or Edge. A Chrome Web Store listing is on the way. Until that listing is live, this download is how you install it.

Download the extension

  1. Unzip the download. The folder contains a file named manifest.json.
  2. Open chrome://extensions in Chrome, Brave, or Arc. In Edge, open edge://extensions.
  3. Turn on Developer mode.
  4. Click Load unpacked and choose the unzipped folder.
  5. Pin it: click the puzzle-piece icon in the toolbar, then the pin next to Sugar Glider.

When a new version is posted here, download it again, unzip it over the same folder, and click the reload arrow on the extension's card.

Connect it to your account

  1. Click the Sugar Glider icon. The popup asks you to connect the extension.
  2. Click Connect the extension. A tab opens. Sign in if asked.
  3. Click Connect extension.
  4. The page says the extension is connected. You can close the tab.

The extension keeps its own sign-in. Disconnect in the popup when you want it to stop. If the connect page cannot see the extension, reload that tab.

Add a role

From LinkedIn.

On a job search, each result has a small Sugar Glider icon with a plus, just left of the dismiss control. The job open on the right has the same icon next to Apply and Save. Click it. A note confirms the role was added.

You can also open one job and click Add this job in the popup. It answers with one of:

  • Added, with the title and company. The role is in your pipeline.
  • Added, and it is at the top of your eval queue. It passed the screen.
  • Added, and the description will fill in shortly.
  • This page needs a sign-in. Paste the description instead.
From anywhere else.

Click the icon, paste the job description (a few paragraphs), and click Add pasted job.

Open pipeline in the popup opens your pipeline in Sugar Glider.

If something looks wrong

  • The popup says your session expired. Click Connect the extension and approve it again.
  • The popup says to open a LinkedIn job or paste the description. The tab is not a single LinkedIn job, so paste the posting.
  • The connect page says to install the extension. Load it with the steps above, then reload the tab.
