Connect an AI assistant
Cursor, Claude, Grok, ChatGPT, and any other MCP client can read your resume, pipeline, and evaluations, add and move roles, start evaluations, and write documents, as you, within your plan's allowance.
You need a Sugar Glider account. Create one if you are new. Confirm your email before the assistant adds roles or starts evaluations.
The server
Paste this URL into the client. You approve the connection in the browser, once.
https://www.sugarglider.work/api/mcpCursor
- Add this to
~/.cursor/mcp.jsonfor every project, or to.cursor/mcp.jsoninside one project.
{
"mcpServers": {
"sugar-glider": {
"url": "https://www.sugarglider.work/api/mcp"
}
}
}- Open Cursor Settings, then MCP. Sugar Glider shows as needing sign-in.
- Click it, or click Connect. A browser tab opens.
- Sign in to Sugar Glider if asked.
- The page names the client and what it can do. Click Allow. The browser returns to Cursor, and the server lists its tools.
Then ask in chat. For example: "Use Sugar Glider to list my interviewing roles."
Claude
This works on claude.ai and in the Claude desktop app. The connection is made from your Claude account.
- Open Customize, then Connectors.
- On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds it first under Organization settings, then Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector.
- Name it Sugar Glider and paste the server URL above.
- Continue, and leave the sign-in settings Claude detected.
- Click Add, sign in if asked, and click Allow.
Grok
- Open grok.com/connectors.
- Choose New Connector, then Custom.
- Paste the server URL above and finish sign-in.
- On a Business or Enterprise team, an admin adds the URL first in the console under Connectors, then Other. Members connect it after that.
ChatGPT
Custom servers are added in ChatGPT on the web. The option is missing when the plan or workspace does not allow them.
- Open ChatGPT Plugins.
- Choose the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name it Sugar Glider. Under Connection, paste the server URL above.
- Choose OAuth if asked, accept the warning, and create it as a plugin.
- Install the plugin. In a chat, type @ and pick Sugar Glider.
Other assistants
Any other client that accepts a remote MCP URL uses the same address. Paste it, sign in if asked, and click Allow.
What you can ask
- What does my resume say?
- What is left on my Sugar Glider allowance?
- List my roles in the interviewing stage.
- Add this job to Sugar Glider, then paste the description or the link.
- Evaluate this role.
- Write the cover letter for this role.
- Move this role to applied.
An evaluation takes a minute or two. Ask the assistant to check the role again.
What it can do
- Read your resume.
- Read your pipeline and open one role, including its description and latest evaluation.
- Read your evaluations.
- Add a role from a link, a pasted description, or both.
- Put a role on the eval queue, or run an evaluation now.
- Move a role: promote, reject, restore, applied, interviewing, accepted, rejected, star, or unstar.
- Write a cover letter or an evaluation report as a PDF, or an application email.
- Read what is left on your plan this billing cycle.
Evaluating a role and writing documents spend the same allowance as the website. The assistant can only do what that role allows. Ask it to open the role if a move is refused.
Disconnect
Each assistant you approve has its own connection. To cut one off, email support@sugarglider.work from your account address and name the assistant.
If something looks wrong
- The client never opens a browser. It may not support this sign-in. Cursor, Claude, Grok, and ChatGPT do.
- The approval page says the request expired or is invalid. Start the connection again from the client. Each approval link works once.
- A request says to confirm your email. Confirm it on your Sugar Glider account, then try again.
The same account works from the Chrome extension.
